Griffin Park Oregon

Griffin Park, part of the Josephine County Park System in Southern Oregon, is a 16.9-acre park and campground bordering the scenic Rogue River with its world-class salmon and steelhead fishing, white water rafting and incredible beauty. Though set apart from the hustle and bustle of the city, it is conveniently located just 13.5 miles from the town of Grants Pass with easy access to I-5.

Sukkot NW has rented the entire campground at Griffin Park, including the picnic shelter. The campground offers tent sites, full hookup RV sites (with tent pads), a yurt, hot showers, and firewood available in the campground. It also offers a playground, volleyball, horseshoes, river access with swimming area, and a boat launch area (boating, rafting, & fishing). The park’s playground is located next to the meeting picnic shelter so little ones can stretch their legs close by.

If you are camping:

To reserve a campsite at Griffin Park during Sukkot NW, fill out the Campsite Reservation Request form to let us know your needs to match you up with an available campsite or a spot in the yurt. A map of the campground and photos of each campsite are provided on Josephine County Parks Griffin Park website. Your campsite reservation will be held for you for 48 hours until payment is made through the Registration Form (or PayPal Invoice if you’ve already registered). Once Griffin Park is full, you only want to camp for part of Sukkot, or we no longer have sites available that fit your needs, Schroeder Park or Indian Mary Campground are the closest campgrounds for overflow. Both are on the Rogue River. Schroeder Park is closer to Grants Pass and Indian Mary is in the Rogue River recreation area. Reservations for both campgrounds can be made through Reserve America (Indian Mary | Schroeder Park).

If you want to camp but don’t have the equipment, folks have rented RVs from Southern Oregon RV Rentals in Grants Pass, Oregon, and are having them delivered to their campsite at Griffin Park, Schroeder Park, or Indian Mary (for a fee). There may be other RV rental services available in the area or near your home (pack it before you leave). If you’ve never RV camped, be sure that the length of the paved area of your campsite will accommodate both your RV and your vehicle. If you are not staying in Griffin Park, Reserve America gives this as an option in their search and it is noted on each site description.

If prefer not to camp:

Options for those not camping include lodges nearby with cabins and rooms in the lodge at Morrison’s Rogue River Lodge as well as others that a web search engine can help you to locate. A selection of hotels, motels, lodges, inns and B&Bs are available in and near Grants Pass (see reviews from TripAdvisor), and cabins and B&B’s near Merlin, a town nearby. If you’re not camping, you’ll need to purchase a parking pass to park at Griffin Park.

  • Pets must be confined to a leash that is no longer than 6′ in length, at all times.
  • Pet owners must clean up after their animals. (Please bring supplies with you)
  • Animals may not be left unattended in vehicles in campsite.
  • Park employees may impose sanctions on pet owners if for any reason the pet is disturbing the safety or tranquility of other park patrons.
  • No Pets are allowed in the yurts, yurt sites or disc golf courses.

Sukkot NW asks that you do not bring your pet to the meeting shelter or playground area adjacent to the meeting shelter.

WiFi & Cell Phone Service

Cell phone service at the campground is very limited (if at all). There is a paved hill about a mile from the campground where most folks can get phone service and free wifi hotspots are available in Grants Pass. The Josephine County Library in Grants Pass has computers and free wifi available and is a great place for students to study during the open times at Sukkot NW. Be sure to check the hours they are open as it is different each day, and they are closed on Sunday and Monday.
